Fishing! Melrose Sunsets Pilated Woodpecker at work in another tree. Still working.... this tree actually has a backdoor too where the woodpecker can enter from both sides! One of my favorites. Sunset off our upper deck at the house. You can see the boathouse in the shadows. Melrose Sunsets Blue Heron ... photos do not do justice to the detail of the feathers. No it is not a shadow... there are two of them on the dock. Heron fishing with Vic... literally.... they watch the bobber and when it moves they will swoop in to catch the fish as Vic reels it in! Believe it or not ... the sun is streaming thru the moss on the trees and it looks like frost. It is amazing what the moss looks like when the sun is shining through it at just the right angle... almost like icicles! otters 5 otters on the walkway Woodpecker hole in the tree. Osprey nest... both mom and pop watching over the eggs. This one was very large and UF came to check it out. Last season it finally met its demise due to high winds.
